Two letters. Both addressed to Zanesville, Ohio to Mrs. Isaac Dillon [1835 from her sister in Springfield Ohio “…I suppose you are almost ready to go to Baltimore.”]; the second to Mr. Isaac Dillon in Zanesville [April 1, 1840] from Asahell Hussey of “Eutaw House, Corner of Baltimore and Eutaw Streets, Baltimore,” on stationary from Eutaw House with a one page printed description of accommodations. “This is the only place for her to get the best medical advice...there will be more strangers in Balt. the first week of next month then has been in our city at one time before…I have had many applications from Philadelphia for one thousand from Delaware for their delegation…” The 1840 Democratic Convention was held in Baltimore from May 5th to the sixth. Both letters are one sheet folded once and used as a stampless cover. 25.5cm. The letter from Baltimore has separations in the folds.
