Older former library copy with darkened spine label and small discard stamp on the title page and verso; Hobart College Library gift bookplate on the front cover paste down. This copy gifted by Clarence A. Seward (1828-1898) who was appointed acting assistant secretary of state to assist his cousin Frederick W. Seward who was wounded by Lewis Powell in the attempted assassination of then secretary of state William H. Seward. Covers somewhat soiled, corners rubbed, cloth on bottom cove joint rubbed. A very good copy with bright titling.
