From the collection of an historical society with penciled notation in the top corner of the front free endpaper at the hinge - no other markings. Corners slightly rubbed, very minor wear to the spine ends, small nick in the top edge of the bottom cover, slight fading around edges; short tear in the bottom edge of the first page and one corner chipped, paper toned; jacket with the front panel illustration and tilting intact but missing pieces of the bottom edge, corners chipped, spine chipped, bottom panel with loss on top and bottom edges; very small stain at the top edge of the front panel, one vertical tear in each panel; edges darkened; all five pop ups are complete. Treated by a professional conservator who reinforced the corners and edges of the jacket and repaired three pop-ups. A very bright copy in the rare jacket.

In very good condition. The cover title of this book is "Mamma's Picture Book." The title page, "Mamma's Picture Book for Her Dear Children" is bound with a frontispiece before the collection of fables. One copy of this book can be found at the American Antiquarian Society's library, but their record starts with "Stories of Hunters and Hunting," which is the first story in the book and corresponds to this book suggesting the title page and frontis in both copies are misbound.
