Bound in three quarter leather and marbled paper covers with gilt fillets; 5 raised bands with titling in gilt; marbled endpapers; top edge gilt. Set by Bertha M. Goudy from types and decorations designed by Frederick W. Goudy and printed in the shop of William E. Rudge; engravings were made by the Beck Engraving Company. Bookplate on front cover pastedown. Corners, edges, joints rubbed. Front free endpaper and following leaf detached. In better than good condition.

Printed at Base Printing Plant, 29th Engineers, U.S. Army 1919," and a postal card showing Verdun before the War. Prior owner's name on the front cover and endpaper; paper browned. Still, in very good condition.

Four different colors for the faux leather bindings, each with gilt front covers and spines, the design of the front cover being a facsimile of the binding for the Treaty of Versailles for that country: red (French), green (Belgian), blue (Italian), brown (Poland), green (Official copy), blue (German); gilt top edges, original card slipcases. Head caps of three volumes with short tears; otherwise in near fine condition.

Corners bumped, cloth frayed; edges of cloth frayed; wear to the spine ends; short tears in cloth of joints; text block almost cracked after the title page; non detracting stain on the front cover; prior owner's signature on the front cover paste down. In good condition.
