Later three quarter black morocco and red cloth covers with gilt rules, and six raised bands, gilt compartments, tilting in gilt, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Older repairs to the frontispiece map, but not detracting; minor edge wear, minor worm damage to last few pages; minor small stain at the top fore edge corner. In better than very good condition. An important early history on the "sports" and wars of the Mongols and Romans featuring wild beast and elephants, hunting expeditions, histories of Mongol invasions, battles, tombs, the conquest of Russia, the history of Roman Britain, Roman emperors, the conquest of Gaul and more.
